Marks of a Good Hearer of the Word

Acts 11:27:30

We Christians are commanded by God to be doers of the Word. That is to say, we should obey what Scripture says, as our obedience is for our own good. But I would like to make a case that before getting there, we must first hear the Word; we must be good hearers of it. I mean, we must be able to clearly understand what the Bible says in order for us to live a life in harmony with the Gospel. How do we know if we are good hearers of God's word?
