In our time, faith can be understood in a myriad of ways. It can simply refer to a religion, spirituality, or even morality. As it appears, it is being understood differently from how the Bible describes it, especially when it comes to God's self-revelation.

In yesterday's blog, we learned that Jesus Christ revealed God the Father to us. Let’s keep learning, shall we?

Here’s a timeless principle you and I should keep in mind.

God reveals Himself to all, but only those who come to Jesus in faith get to know Him personally.

Our verse of the day highlights creation’s witness to the Creator, and the reality of His existence is made plain to people. Paul, the writer, discusses natural revelation and distinguishes it from special revelation that comes through the Scriptures. The human eyes can clearly see the testimony of God, but revelation does not stop there. The evidence of creation should point people to the Creator. But still, a greater means of revelation is given to mankind.

The Bible shows us who God is. From the Book of Genesis, we can see Him gradually revealing Himself to man. The Old Testament was given to help the Israelites know the God who saved them and be His representatives to the world. But they ultimately failed. Instead of showing the world who God was, they chased after false gods.

Thankfully, Jesus, the Son of God, came to Earth and revealed God to us. He lived a perfect life, obeyed the commands of the Law without fail, and gave His life to save sinners. Now, all authority in heaven and on Earth belongs to Him. But out of the multitudes who saw Him physically, only a small number came to a saving faith in Him.

After Jesus’ ascent into heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit, who inspired the writing of the New Testament. With the 66 biblical accounts we now have, God has given us a better understanding of who He is. But despite the billions of people reading the Bible, many still do not get to know God or experience His true power. Even though they have some knowledge of His Word, the reality of God is foreign to their hearts. Truth be told, faith is not just about possessing information about God; it is about having a personal experience of His truth and grace.
